Biblical shepherds lead through humility, care, example, and spiritual attentiveness. Peter calls elders to shepherd the flock of God among them, not lording it over those entrusted to them, but serving as examples. Paul reminds the Ephesian elders to keep watch over themselves and over the flock the Spirit has appointed them to oversee.
